Foshan Electrical and Lighting Co., Ltd. (Foshan Lighting) is a large enterprise of electric light sources in China and a base approved by the State Council to export mechanical and electrical products. We are authorized to operate import and export and 40% of our products are exported. We have three industrial parks in Foshan, Nanhai and Gaoming respectively. And we are a Sino-foreign joint venture limited by shares (listed). In 2006, the stock allocation reform was completed and OSRAM Holding Co., Ltd., wholly owned by Siemens, has since become the first majority shareholder of Foshan Lighting.
For years, we have been in a leading position among domestic competitors in terms of gross output value, profit and foreign exchange earnings from export. In 1995, we were given the first place among the “Top Ten Listed Companies” among companies listed in the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in terms of overall business performance. In 1997, we were made a candidate for the top ten light-industry enterprises in the country. From 1999 to 2004, we were honored by the Shanghai-based Asia Business Group and China Securities Journal as one of the 50 most promising listed companies for six times in a row. We became a patent demonstration enterprise of Guangdong Province in 1999 and a hi-tech enterprise of the province in 2001. Our energy-efficient lamps became quality-inspection-free products approved by competent state authorities in 2002 and our compact energy-efficient lamps, general light bulbs, fluorescent tubes and lamp fixture series received the same honor in 2006. In 2003, we were one of China’s top 30 listed companies with the highest investment value and our brand—“FSL”—was honored as a “Famous Trademark of Guangdong Province”. In the 2005~2006 year, our FSL mechanical and electrical products were titled by the Ministry of Commerce as a famous export brand of which development support should focus on. In 2006, we were recognized by both the Ministry of Commerce and the National Development and Reform Commission as an automobile part manufacturing base. In 2007, Foshan Lighting Testing Center was recognized as a state-level testing center and FSL was honored as a “Famous Trademark of China” in the same year. For the three years from 2008 to 2010, we won the bid for the country’s project to promote energy-efficient lighting products.
